Pearson Test of English (PTE) is totally a computer-based test and even the marking is done by the computer. This test is designed in such a way – to assess the candidate’s English abilities that are planning to study or work in abroad.
In order to book the PTE test, one must create a Pearson account through the website www.pearsonpte.com. An email will be sent to you by the PTE organization with your login details.
Validity
PTE scores are valid for 2 years from the date you appear for the exam. You can take the PTE test as many times as you can. But need to wait for the results of the previous test.
Syllabus
PTE consists of three main sections. The test will last nearly 3 hours depending on the combination of questions in 3 sections.
Section 1: Speaking and writing (77-93 minutes)
Speaking section is designed in such a way; it assesses your English speaking ability skills in an academic environment. In writing section, you have to write the responses in academic English with proper grammar and spelling.
Part A: Personal introduction
There is no scoring for this item type. You will be given 25 seconds to prepare your response and 30 seconds to record your answer. You can record the answer only once.
